![]() About a week ago, we read Pandora's Box. It's a story from Greek mythology that explains the negative things in the world. I love studying Greek mythology, so the second I flipped to that page I was so excited! My class also read a Native American legend called Loo-Wit the Firekeeper. It's explains some of the geographical features in the Northwestern areas of America.

![]() My class takes every opportunity to yell at each other, so when Ms. Melendez said we could basically due it while throwing facts in each other's faces, we were ecstatic. We had a debate about whether Colin Kaepernick refusing to stand for the national anthem was a good thing. We all picked out of a hat, and me being the unlucky person I am, got the piece of paper that said that what he did was wrong. As much I wanted to be on the side defending him, I have to admit that what he did was kinda disrespectful. Anyway, the debate was actually pretty boring in the beginning, but then I guess everyone drank imaginary cups of coffee because by the end, it looked like a battle to see who could shout the loudest. The debate was super fun, and I think we're going to have another one soon. ![]() Recently, my class read a story entitled "The Tell-Tale Heart". It's about a man who was basically INSANE, and killed an old man because his glass eye freaked him out. It was really gruesome, but I guess I have to go into specifics. The crazy dude dismembered the old man and hid him under the floorboards. Fortunately, he ended up confessing to the police about the murder because I suppose he was feeling guilty. This story was written by Edgar Allan Poe in 1843, and it became quite popular due to its suspenseful nature. As much as I love suspense, this story was definitely...interesting. |
